On August 10th, 2011 CMA BC hosted over 140 individuals at their Summer Workforce Panel to give aspiring CMAs a unique look at the CMA designation. The panel was held at the Terminal City Club and featured individuals in various stages of the CMA program. The CMAs and CMA Candidates shared their experiences and advice for overcoming challenges that they encountered or are currently encountering going through CMA’s Accelerated Program and Strategic Leadership Program.
The panel included Sunny Sharma, a CMA Candidate who currently works as a Key Accounts Manager at BC Hydro and is entering into the second year of the Strategic Leadership Program. Raveen Kullar, a CMA Candidate who currently works as the General Manager of Global Mining Products and who will be receiving his CMA when he convocates in October. Diane Chung, CMA, who received her designation in 2005 and currently works as Director, Marketing & Business Development at Davis LLP was also on hand to discuss how her career has benefited since receiving the designation. Viola Gressel, CMA, Regional Director, Corporate Services for the Department of Justice Canada was the evening’s moderator.
Following the panel, refreshments were served and attendees were given the opportunity to mingle with additional CMAs and CMA Candidates who were on hand to network and answer questions about the CMA designation.
