This November, CMA BC will be hosting its 5th Annual Post Secondary School Case Competition. This competition will challenge you to be creative and solve real-world business problems by combining your classroom knowledge and real life experience. You will be competing against other first and second year business students from British Columbia for a chance to compete in the Final Round of the competition.
General Information
Teams: Teams must consist of 4 team members who are 1st and/or 2nd year full-time students in a Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce program at a Post Secondary Institution in British Columbia.
Requirements: Team members must complete and submit the attached CMA BC Case Competition Application Form by the Sunday, October 23rd deadline.
Accommodation: This year, all teams who compete in the final round of the competition will receive a complimentary night at the Vancouver Delta Hotel the evening of Friday, November 4th. Each team will receive two double rooms for case competition participants only. Any other transportation (flights, ferries, parking, etc) and/or accommodation costs will not be covered by the Society of Certified Management Accountants of British Columbia (CMA BC).
Prizes:
- 1st Place – $2,500
- 2nd Place – $2,000
- 3rd Place – $1,000
- Each placing team will receive an award to be displayed at their school
- Awards will be presented at CMA BC’s annual networking event on November 17th at V-Lounge, Earl’s Restaurant in Yaletown
Important Dates to Remember
Sunday, October 23, 2011 – Round 1 – Written Essay or video due at midnight
Monday, October 24, 2010 – Finalists Notified via email by 5:00 PM
Friday, November 4, 2010 – Case Competition Workshop & distribution of Case for Finalists from 12:00pm – 4:30pm
Saturday, November 5, 2010 – Round 2 – Presentations at the Vancouver Delta Hotel from 8:00am – 5:00pm
