I chose to be a CMA Campus Rep because I want to be the first to hear about news and events associated with CMA. I hope to create a web of networks through my membership which will aid in my future success.
I think students should consider a CMA designation because it teaches them how to be good decisions makers by taking into account both financial and non-financial aspects of any issue.
In my spare time, I like to work out, read the CMA magazine, hang out with friends, and watch movies.
When I finish school, I want to get my CMA then start a structural steel fabricating plant.
If I could choose one place in the world to live, it would be Phuket, Thailand on the beach!
On campus, I am most likely to be found in the CBA atrium located on the Interurban Campus.
I choose to be a CMA Campus Rep because it provides a balanced opportunity to get involved in my school, network with current and future CMA professionals, and stay informed of improvements and changes in the industry.
The best part about being a CMA Campus Rep is meeting and connecting with students I would otherwise not get to encounter. Also, I enjoy assisting students in making informed decisions regarding their education and career path.
I want to get my CMA designation because the Strategic Leadership Program (SLP) offers a holistic curriculum that prepares students to make informed, influential decisions in any corporation. It does not just focus on numbers, but combines every area of the business discipline including accounting, operations, human resources, marketing, technology, and to name a few.
The best piece of advice I ever received was:

On campus, you’re most likely to find me in class or helping out at accounting events held by The Accounting Society of Kwantlen.
I want to get my CMA designation because I want to lead. I have a strong interest in managerial accounting and operation and production management as almost all firms need these processes. I want a designation that will help me be a good leader and have the tools to make executive decisions. I would also like to own a business one day and a business requires more than just accounting.
I think students should consider a CMA designation because there are a lot of different jobs, in different industries out there for CMAs. CMAs work in all sorts of industries to match your interests such as energy, retail, or finance. I believe the CMA designation offers flexibility and a range of skill sets such as strategic leadership, financial analysis, and teamwork that can be used in any type of job. A CMA may be working in industry or public practice depending on their experience and interests and the program is designed to help individuals think like leaders.
When I finish school, I want to work in industry and develop my management skills. I want to get know all of the sections of a business such as operations, marketing, and human resources. I eventually would go to get designated as a CMA.
If I could choose one place in the world to live, it would be right here in British Columbia. I believe we are very lucky to be only an hour or so away from the mountains or the beach. British Columbia is a beautiful place filled with many business opportunities and a diversified culture. I could not imagine living anywhere else.
On campus, you’re most likely to find me in a cozy corner of the library that looks out to a gorgeous Okanagan landscape, with a hot tea, my mac, and a textbook or two.
The best part about being a CMA Campus Rep is that I am able to promote the designation that I am passionate about. It is great to share with fellow students and business professionals the potential benefits of accounting, management, and strategy teamed together; how one is not complete without the other.
I want to get my CMA designation because I know that it will allow me to think smarter, and take effective action as a manager, and with time and effort accelerate my career to the executive level.
I think students should consider a CMA designation because as a mature student who has worked in small and medium sized business for 11 years I can see the benefits of studying accounting to understand the numbers, management to understand the organisation, and strategy to make it all work together in harmony. It is great option for students that enjoy numbers, however are looking for something more varied in their career.
In my spare time, I like to enjoy the outdoors, commuting on my bicycle, to school, for errands, and for fun. I love to road run and trail run, and relax with yin yoga. Spend time with friends enjoying a “London Fog”, as well as volunteering in the community with GenNext Kelowna.
When I finish school, I want to go on a holiday for the summer to a French immersion school in the countryside of France, and visit my family at home in Australia. Then come back to the life I love in Kelowna and take on a real world dream job on my path to the C-suite.

I chose to be a CMA Campus Rep because I thought it would be a great opportunity to help give back to the SFU community and educate students about the CMA designation.
The best part about being a CMA Campus Rep is meeting interesting people, going to great events, and being able to help others who are going through the same process as you are.
I think students should consider a CMA designation because the designation opens up many doors for future opportunities and is not limited to strictly accounting positions.
In my spare time, I like to stay active by playing sports, hiking and training in mixed martial arts.
On campus, you’re most likely to find me in the David Lam Library or just strolling around in the CA Hall!
I chose to be a CMA Campus Rep because the CMA designation offers so many opportunities locally and internationally and has a strategic management view of accounting that needs to be communicated to students.
I want to get my CMA designation because it will provide the strategic and management leadership skills I need to succeed in public industry practices.
In my spare time, I like to play volleyball, swim, and do anything active really!
When I finish school, I want to travel around Europe then work towards my CMA designation
