To mark the wrap-up and celebrate another successful year of its Mentor Program, CMA BC hosted its second annual Mentor Mixer on Wednesday, June 27 at the Salt Tasting Room in Gastown.
While the CMA designation is a Canadian designation, CMAs are certainly not limited to working only in Canada. In fact, the value of the designation is recognized globally and there are currently CMA members living and applying their skills and knowledge in more than 90 countries worldwide.

The CMA Accelerated Program is a nine or 18-month part-time program that equips students with the accounting skills and knowledge required to challenge the National Entrance Exam. The Accelerated Program is the quickest and most popular option for obtaining the 16 CMA BC prerequisites to become eligible to write the CMA National Entrance Exam and start the CMA Strategic Leadership Program. Over 90% of BC students who’ve successfully completed the Accelerated Program in the past two years have passed the June 2011, Oct 2010 and June 2010 National Entrance Exams.

Campus Representatives are found on Capilano University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Okanagan College and Simon Fraser University. Certified Management Accountants Society of BC offers a number of scholarships to post-secondary students. This year 14 outstanding individuals were awarded a CMA Scholarship worth a $1,500 remission of fees.
